Example – Riding a Horse (Character to Prop)

The linkage function facilitates you to have your character riding a horse, driving a vehicle or any other transportation while still allowing your character to have independent motion animation.

  1. Apply a horse to your project.

  1. Pick the character. In the Modify page, link the character to the horse.

  2. Select the spine node on the horse back and check the Align Position to Parent box, Click OK button.

  1. Apply a riding pose to the character.

  1. Adjust the transition of the character so the character “rides” on the horse.

  1. Play the project.

Note:

  • You may need to re-locate the character since Align Position to Parent overlaps the pivots of the parent and the child node together while the pivots might not be designed to the appropriate position as you want.

  • You are free to modify the motion of the character without being concerned about the position of it since it will be driven to move along with the parent node (in this case, the horse).
