Basic Operation

Two sample cases are provided for Link To feature:

  • Link Character to Prop

    1. Add a static or live prop as the parent node for the character. (The swing is a merged prop with motion clip)

    2. Apply a sitting pose to the character.

    3. Go Modify tab (or double click on the character to pick it).

    4. Move to the Character Position section.

    5. Select the target object in the Link to drop down list.

    6. Click the Link Node iClone mod%20link Basic Operation button to invoke the Link to Sub-Node dialog box.

    7. You must select an inner node to link to.

    8. Move the swing to see the linkage effect.

  • Link Prop to Prop

    1. Apply two props. (A flying object and a brain)

    1. Go to the Modify tab.

    2. In the Prop List, select the brain as the child node.

    3. Move to the Adjust section.

    4. Select the flying object as the parent node in the Link to drop down list.

    5. Click the Link Node iClone mod%20link Basic Operation button to invoke the Link to Sub-Node dialog box.

    6. You must select an inner node. Check the Align Position to Parent box and click OK.

    1. Move the flying object to see the linkage effect.

Note:

  • The target object (also known as Parent Node) can be a character, an accessory, or a prop.

  • If the child object is a character, you might need to adjust its orientation after the linking process to get the best result.
